Ozark Action helped 221 children at last week’s back-to-school fair that benefits needy families.

The fair, which began in 2000, included health screenings from local healthcare professionals and hospital staff. Among the screenings were vision, height, weight, Scoliosis, blood pressure, physicals and dental.

Each of five counties that host fairs must provide its own funds for its fair. Providing financial support in Texas County were Family Services, Texas County Library, Ozark Independent Living, University of Missouri Extension, Intercounty Electric, Adult Education Centers, Consumer Credit Counseling and others.

Ozark Action will also continue to provide help to families throughout the year as needs arise.
