The Houston Herald has launched a comprehensive online service for businesses in the county.
Herald Marketplace (marketplace.houstonherald.com) offers free listings for nearly 700 businesses that include information such as store hours, address and contact information, Web site and telephone number.
Businesses that use the site also can reach their customers with photos of their operation, videos, full product line listings and much more.
The marketplace, which uses technology powered by a national leader in the field contracted by the Herald, will act as the search engine for Texas County. It will be the premier local search engine that helps consumers quickly and easily find the most relevant search results for local businesses, products and services.
“For people who live in the county, this gives them access to information about businesses, products and services,” said Brad Gentry, publisher. “It’s a one-stop shop for those needing information about businesses in our county. Local businesses can communicate with local residents without competing on the Internet with other online sites around the world.”
Businesses can update information about their operations through a free self-service option at the Herald’s Web site. Simply click “manage your listings here” on the directory search at http://marketplace.houstonherald.com.
Visitors can search for specific businesses or scan dozens of categories such as professional services, healthcare, home improvement, shopping, restaurants and auto repair.
