Preston Andrew “Drew” St. John recently was sworn in as a fireman for the Cape Girardeau Fire Department. The ceremony took place at Station One with the city clerk administering the oath while other city officials, fire department personnel and families observed. His father had the honor of pinning on his badge.
St. John is a 2002 graduate of Houston High School and has a long history of involvement in emergency services. He has been a weather spotter, served as volunteer with Texas County Rescue and is a 10-year veteran of the Houston Rural and City Fire Departments. He recently worked as an EMT for Texas County Memorial Hospital.
He is married to the former Megan Wright and is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Gerald St. John of Houston.
