Legacy Bank and Trust is partnering with the Missouri Bankers Association to raise funds for Segs4Vets, a program that provides funding for the purchase of Segway personal transporters to veterans who have sustained severe injuries in combat.

Segs4Vets is the charity of choice for the Missouri Bankers Association.

“To show appreciation to the men and women who fight to preserve our freedom, the Missouri Bankers Association designated Nov. 10 as Segs4Vets Day and invited its member banks to develop fund-raising activities appropriate for their individual communities,” said MBA President and CEO Max Cook.

Legacy Bank has established donation containers at its locations in Rogersville, Sparta, Mountain Grove and Plato. Each will be accepting donations until Nov. 25.

“November provides a time for our nation and community to honor our veterans as well as give thanks. Our bank’s participation in this project gives us the opportunity to say thank you to our soldiers and veterans,” said Legacy CEO John Everett.

The Segs4Vets program is a grassroots effort administered by volunteers who believe that when those serving our nation are sent into harms way and suffer serious injury and permanent disability, they must have every resource and tool available to them that will allow them to fulfill their dreams and live the highest quality of life possible.

The Missouri Bankers Association is a statewide trade and professional organization that represents the interests of 354 banks and savings and loans in Missouri. Its members have more than 30,000 employees who work in more than 2,000 locations throughout the state.
