Richard D. Lane, 49, of Licking, was charged following a Nov. 22 investigation of two suspicious fires northwest of his hometown.

A Licking man was arrested last month following an investigation of two suspicious fires northwest of his hometown.

The Texas County Sheriff’s Department said information gathered from the Nov. 22 fires led to a search warrant and arrest of Richard D. Lane, 49. He was charged with three counts of unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon and possession of stolen property.

A SWAT team with the Missouri State Highway Patrol helped apprehend Lane, the sheriff’s department said. He was taken to Texas County Jail, and his bond is $500,000.

The sheriff’s department has contacted federal authorities to inquire if the federal attorney would be interested in adopting the case based on Lane’s past felony convictions.
