An Illinois man was injured Thursday morning when his tractor-trailer failed to negotiate a curve on East Highway 17 and overturned, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Tpr. Dale Pounds said Douglas L. Follis, 40, of Lincoln, Ill., was traveling westbound at 11:55 a.m. when his 2006 Freightliner ran off the left side of the roadway, overturned and came to rest on its side. The accident was three miles east of Houston.

Pounds said Follis, who was taken to Texas County Memorial Hospital with moderate injuries, was wearing a seat belt. His tractor-trailer was totaled.
