An Arkansas man was charged last week with burglarizing St. John’s Sisk Pharmacy in Licking.
Christopher L. Johnston, 32, of Fort Smith, Ark., confessed to the crime after being arrested by authorities in Sequoyah County, Okla., according to Licking Police Chief Scott Lindsey. Johnston, who remains incarcerated in Oklahoma, is charged with second-degree burglary, stealing a controlled substance, stealing more than $500, trespassing and property damage.
Lindsey said Johnston was arrested Feb. 22 after being involved nine days earlier in a pursuit with Oklahoma authorities.
Sequoyah County Sheriff Ron Lockhart said Johnston and a woman are suspected of breaking into 10 vehicles in Sequoyah County and eluding Vian Police.
Lindsay said items from the Sisk Pharmacy burglary were found in Johnston’s vehicle, and he admitted to stealing a vehicle in Oklahoma, driving to Licking and committing the burglary during the night hours after the business closed Feb. 10.
