A community arts event is planned Thursday, Sept. 24, in Emmett Kelly Park in Houston.

A free show featuring local artists — “Art in the Park” — is set for 6-8 p.m. Thursday, June 24, in Emmett Kelly Park.

Sponsored by the Community Betterment and Arts Council of Houston, the display will showcase paintings and drawings by artists of all ages – from pre-school to adult.

Local artists may bring their artwork to the park by 5 p.m. that day, and they should provide their own stands or easels, if needed.

For more information or to reserve a place, contact Alice Wells at 417-967-2495. Space is limited.

“There is a great deal of local artistic talent in our community, and we hope many people will come to see and appreciate it,” according to a press release from the organization.
