Property rights

Ozarks Property Rights Congress is hosting a conference for the 10th consecutive year Saturday in Cabool.

“Yes, you can make a difference” will bring together property owners from across Missouri and adjoining states to share information pertaining to preserving their private property rights.

The event begins at 9 a.m. at the Cinema II Theatre on Highway 181 just south of the U.S. 60 bypass. Free coffee and doughnuts will be served before the meeting, which is free and open to the public.

Guest speakers will include Doreen Hannes, Ron Calzone, Paul Hamby and Ray Cunio.

“This year our speakers are going to show how individuals and small dedicated groups can influence the laws and regulations directed at controlling the use of private and public land,” said PRC chairman Russell Wood. “We’re going to hear about watershed control, home grown food restrictions, eminent domain, greenhouse emissions and other pertinent topics.”

Wood said candidates for contested state and federal offices have been invited to meet with the group to share their views and answer questions.
