A Mountain View will appear in Texas County Circuit Court on Sept. 7 for his sentencing on an involuntary manslaughter charge.
John F. Cook entered a guilty plea recently before Circuit Judge Mary Sheffield.
Cook, who is held in jail, is charged in the death of Carol S. Bell, 54, of Summersville.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol said a vehicle driven by Cook, 40, in November 2009 crossed the centerline south of Summersville and struck a car head-on that was driven by Mrs. Bell. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities said Cook was intoxicated.
