A Texas County Sheriff’s Department deputy responded Thursday to a report of two women being held at gunpoint by a man at a Clear Springs Road residence at Willow Springs.
The officer stated in a report that he was advised while on the way to the scene that a shot had been fired. Upon arrival, the officer used a public address system to advise the man to exit the residence, and he complied.
During an investigation, one of the women told the officer the man had produced the rifle and made her sit in a chair, while the other woman said she saw what was happening and hid in the bedroom. The officer stated that a .22 magnum rifle with a loaded magazine was found behind the kitchen door and an unloaded Ruger 10-22 behind the bedroom door. Both firearms were secured.
The officer stated that neither female victim wished to pursue charges. The man’s son arrived and him to Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains for evaluation.
