The Mountain Grove Medical Complex, an affiliate of Ozarks Medical Center, will begin offering services from board-certified rheumatologist Dr. Mark Jarek beginning Jan. 21. Appointments are now being scheduled.
Care will be provided in the state-of-the-art Mountain Grove Medical Complex, which opened in a new location at 500 E. 19th Street in October 2013.
Dr. Jarek will be at the clinic on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month. He will provide quality treatment close to home for those suffering from arthritis, certain autoimmune diseases, musculoskeletal pain disorders and osteoporosis.
Dr. Jarek said this new program will bring a much-needed service to the area.
“For those who suffer from painful and chronic diseases, traveling to seek quality care can be very burdensome,” he said. “I am looking forward to the opportunity to serve our OMC patients and provide the care they need, close to home. It is wonderful that OMC has built this new space so that services can be expanded and our patients can receive care in a very comfortable environment.”
Dr. Jarek is accepting new physicians and a referral from another physician is not needed.
Dr. Jarek is a member of Premier Specialty Network of Columbia and has been providing rheumatology services at OMC since 2008. He, along with rheumatologists Dr. Anne Winkler, Dr. Anthony Tay and Dr. Melinda Reed, practice at Ozarks Medical Center Rheumatology Clinic in West Plains.
A native of Pennsylvania, Dr. Jarek earned his medical doctorate from Hahnemann University School of Medicine in Philadelphia. He went on to complete an internship and residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in rheumatology at Fitzsimons Army Medical Center in Aurora, Colorado.
He is a diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine in Rheumatology and a fellow of the American College of Physicians and the American College of Rheumatology.
Dr. Jarek and his wife, Marie, have two daughters.
