A Winter Storm Warning has been issued beginning Saturday night for Texas County, the National Weather Service said. 

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for Texas County beginning at 9 p.m. Saturday until noon Sunday.

Snow and bitter cold conditions are expected.

A STRONG COLD FRONT WILL BEGIN TO MOVE THROUGH THE REGION SATURDAY AFTERNOON AS PRECIPITATION BEGINS TO SPREAD NORTH FROM ARKANSAS. THE PRECIPITATION WILL INITIALLY BEGIN AS LIGHT RAIN OR DRIZZLE AND TRANSITION QUICKLY TO SNOW LATE THIS AFTERNOON INTO THIS EVENING. PERIODS OF MODERATE TO HEAVY SNOW WILL BE POSSIBLE DURING THE OVERNIGHT HOURS SATURDAY INTO SUNDAY MORNING. PORTIONS OF THE EASTERN OZARKS SHOULD EXPECT 5 TO 8 INCHES OF SNOWFALL WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS.
