A Hartshorn woman was seriously injured in a head-on accident with a tractor-trailer Thursday afternoon in Texas County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Cynthia K. Hobbs, 51, was flown to Mercy Hospital following the collision at 3:34 p.m. on Highway 17 in Summersville. Hobbs, who was not wearing her seat belt, was injured when her southbound vehicle crossed the center line and collided with a northbound 2000 Peterbilt driven by Andrew U. Helton, 79, of Summersville.

The patrol said Hobb’s 2011 Chevrolet Cruze was totaled. Helton, who was not injured, was wearing a seat belt.

The Summersville Police Department and Missouri Department of Transportation assisted.
