Texas County is under a heat advisory for one more day, the National Weather Service reports.

The National Weather Service has extended a heat advisory for Texas County and southwest Missouri until 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Temperatures will be in the upper 90s and lower 100s today. Heat indexes will range from 100 to 106 in the afternoon, says the National Weather Service.

The National Weather Service said the cumulative effects of multiple days of afternoon heat index values above 100 degrees will result in an increased risk of heat-related illnesses. Young children, the elderly and those without air conditioning will be particularly susceptible.
