The state’s largest agriculture organization named Rep. Robert Ross as a recipient of a 2016 Friend of Agriculture Award.
The Missouri Farm Bureau presented Ross, R-Yukon, with the award Aug. 10 in Cabool during Sen. Roy Blunt’s Missouri Farm Tour. The honor is presented each year to legislators who work closely with the organization to advance policy positions that are beneficial to agriculture in the state. Because of his consistent support of legislation designed to help Missouri farmers and good working relationships with the county Farm Bureau organizations in his district, Ross was selected by the organization as one of the recipients.
“As someone who realizes the importance of agriculture to my district, and to our entire state, I have made it a priority during my time in the legislature to support our hard-working farm families,” Ross said. “I am committed to working to ensure our state’s top industry continues to thrive and grow.”
Ross is one of several legislators recognized by the Missouri Farm Bureau for their support of pro-agriculture initiatives. Those honored receive a plaque and will be listed in the fall issue of Show Me Missouri Farm Bureau Magazine.
