One of three vocational training courses offered to high school boys this year is an introductory class in auto mechanics. Under the guidance of Carlos Elmore, the group meets for nearly two hours each school day at Elmore’s garage. Nine boys are enrolled in the course, which is currently studying small engines. Other vocational classes cover carpentry and heating-air conditioning. Courses are financed through a federal program.
