A Houston man was seriously injured in a head-on collision Thursday morning just outside the city limits.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol said James E. Burris, 43, and Misty A. Colgan, 27, crashed into each other at 7:45 a.m. in a curve on Mineral Drive. It was 0.25 miles north of Houston.
Burris, who was not wearing a seat belt, was taken by ambulance to Cox Medical Center South in Springfield. Colgan, who was wearing a seat belt, was not injured.
Both vehicles had extensive damage.
