A Licking man was arrested Sunday night on multiple charges and held without bond following a single-vehicle accident.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said James L. Hawkins, 38, was traveling northbound 4.7 miles north of Mountain View on Highway 17 when his vehicle left the roadway and overturned. He was not wearing a seat belt.

After being taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Mountain View with moderate injuries, Hawkins was held in the Texas County Jail on charges of driving while intoxicated (prior offender), careless and imprudent driving as well as driving while revoked. He also faced a felony probation and parole warrant for robbery and misdemeanor Texas County warrants for driving while revoked and leaving the scene of an accident.

His 2008 Chevrolet Silverado had extensive damage, the patrol said.
