An Elk Creek boy was injured at about 7:15 p.m. Dec. 1 in an accident north of Cabool, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.

Three members of a Houston family were injured Wednesday night in a two-vehicle wreck on Highway 17.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said the 6:39 p.m. accident occurred when a pickup driven by Michael C. Mitchell, 25, of Bucyrus, turned into the path of Martin W. George’s southbound truck. The wreck was six miles north of Houston.

George, 37, and two passengers, Susan L. George, 41, and Martin W. George, 10, were all taken by ambulance to Texas County Memorial Hospital. Susan George’s injuries were serious, the patrol said. The youngest George was the only one wearing a seat belt.

Mitchell, who was not wearing a seat belt, was not injured. His 2004 Dodge Ram 3500 had extensive damage. The George’s 1995 Ford F150 was totaled.

The Houston Rural Fire Department was dispatched to assist with fuel leaking at the scene.
