A school bus from the Houston R-1 School District was involved in a single-vehicle accident late Monday afternoon. The driver and students onboard escaped injury.

Dr. Allen Moss, superintendent, said the wreck occurred sometime after 4 p.m. on Highway E north of Houston. Moss said the bus tires went off the roadway, causing it to go into a ditch and barbed wire fence.

Moss said because the bus was near the end of its route, only 2-3 students were onboard. They were picked up at the scene by their parents, he said.

An ambulance from Texas County Memorial Hospital responded to the scene, but no medical treatment was needed, Moss said. The Missouri State Highway Patrol investigated the accident.

Moss said the bus sustained some damage.
