Betty Davis, 79, passed away Monday, Dec. 12, 2016, in Springfield.

She was born Jan. 14, 1937, in Des Moines, Iowa, daughter of Albert and Dorothy Smith Boettcher.

She lived in many different areas growing up. She graduated from Waynesville High School.

In the 1970s and ’80s, she lived in Centralia, Ill. She worked at KAS/Bachmann Foods. She was active in Moose Lodge #1219. She was the Senior Regent in her lodge. She enjoyed working and promoting the ideals of the Ladies Moose Lodge.

She worked as a corrections officer with the Jefferson City Correctional Center and retired from there in 1997.

During her spare time she often enjoyed going to the casinos with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Debbie Howser; a son, Robert Allen; her husband, Charles Davis; and a brother, Carl.

Survivors include a daughter, Brenda Poschen; four sons, Nor man Grobe, Harold Korzenewski, Terry Korzenewski, and John Korzenewski Jr; two brothers, Albert Boettcher Jr., and George Hansler; a sister, Misty Garsow; 18 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and several other relatives and friends.

Services were Saturday, Dec. 17, at Evans Funeral Home. Burial was in Palace Cemetery in Plato.
