Edward “Glen” Rust, 93, of Ash Grove, passed away Saturday, Nov. 19, 2016.

He was born July 19, 1923, in Solo, son of Robert Edward and Stella O. Sigman Rust. He and Violet Harmon Rust were married Aug. 16, 1942.

He loved serving in his church. He was a deacon for more than 50 years. Glen enjoyed going on mission trips. The most memorable he went on was to Mexico.

He enjoyed traveling to Hawaii to see is son, Tommy, while he was stationed there with the Navy. He also enjoyed fishing trips to Canada. He made an Honor Flight trip with Tommy to Washington, D.C.

He loved spending time with his family, gardening and reading to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Richard “Joe” Rust; and three brothers, Wayne Rust, Ray Rust and Bobby Rust.

Survivors include his wife, Violet; four sons, Ronald E. Rust of Springfield, Daniel C. Rust of Aldrich, Troy Rust of Bois D’Arc and Tommy L. Rust of Ash Grove; a foster daughter, Carmela Jones of Willard; 19 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; a sister, Madge Elmore of Houston; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members and friends.

Services were Wednesday, Nov. 23, at Ash Grove Assembly of God under the direction of Wilson Brim-Daniel Funeral Home of Ash Grove.
