Chris Sawyer, a Houston native, is the employee of the month at Houston House. Upon graduation, he worked as a lumber grader and later as a Dish technician. He came to Houston House in 2010 and has worked there since with the exception of one year. He is a CNA. He and his wife, Christy, have three children. His hobbies include playing drums, coaching basketball and playing the game with his kids.
Joan McDonald is the resident of the month at Houston House. She attended school in Kansas and was married to Denzil McDonald for 62 years. She has seven children, 18 grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. She worked over the years as a medical secretary for doctors. Her hobbies include board games, bingo, going to the beauty shop and she used to play golf. She has traveled to numerous countries and annually went to Hawaii.
