The Houston Lady Tigers fell to 1-4 with a 55-49 road loss Monday at Newburg.
Three players combined to score 46 of the team’s points. Senior Abby Casper led the way with 16 points while Jaydin Ramsey and Kaitlyn Root added 15 apiece.
Eight of Houston’s 15 field goals were 3-pointers. Casper made four triples and Ramsey had three. Chloe Hunninghake made the other.
Newburg, which built a 13-8 edge after the first quarter, had the same number of field goals as the Lady Tigers. The difference was making more free throws (21) than HHS attempted (18).
Casper and Stephani Crewse both fouled out.
“We are fouling way too much,” Lady Tigers coach Jim Moore said. “We are not moving our feet and putting ourselves in bad situations. It’s definitely something we have to clean up.”
