An Elk Creek boy was injured at about 7:15 p.m. Dec. 1 in an accident north of Cabool, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.

Six people were injured, including four young children, in a single-vehicle accident Sunday evening on Highway 137 near Licking.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said Willie E. Thornton, 26, was driving eastbound when his van ran off the roadway and struck a utility pole. The wreck was three miles south of Licking.

Thornton was transported by ambulance to Texas County Memorial Hospital with moderate injuries. Five passengers –– Whitney M. Breshears, 26, Madyson N. Breshears, 4, Joshua G. Breshears, 2, Kadyn G. Thornton, 1, and Landyn G. Thornton, newborn –– were all taken by private vehicle to TCMH with minor injuries. All passenger were wearing seat belts.

The 2003 GMC van had moderate damage.
