Houston senior Lucas Kelley shoots a second-half jumper last Wednesday against Crocker.

CABOOL — An offensive outburst kept Houston alive for the holidays.

The Tigers scored 30 fourth-quarter points to rally past Norwood 53-49 last Tuesday morning in the consolation bracket of the Cabool Holiday Tournament.

Houston (3-8) concluded the tournament the following day with a 72-61 loss to Crocker.

Not only were the 30 fourth-quarter points against Norwood more than Houston scored the previous three quarters, it is more than the Tigers scored in two complete games this season.

Lucas Kelley led Houston with 20 points and nine rebounds. Ty McCloud and Isaiah Buse added eight points apiece.

Last Wednesday against Crocker, Kelley again scored 20 points to lead the team. Freshman Kyler Ramsey added 11 points, including three of the team’s eight 3-pointers.

The Tigers went 1-2 in the annual holiday tournament with a victory over Norwood sandwiched between an opening-round loss to Seymour and the defeat to Crocker.
