Dry Creek Marketplace features a variety of "farmhouse home decor" items.

A retail store called “Dry Creek Marketplace” opened about a month ago in downtown Houston.

Located on First Street at Mill Street, the store is owned and operated by Travis and Tiffani Root, and Tiffani’s mother, Joanie McDowell. The trio said the store’s inventory consists of “farmhouse home décor and more,” featuring a variety of antique and newer items.

Also offered are candles, wax melts, personalized signs and custom window frames, and McDowell makes custom handbags by special order.

Store hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

“But if I’m here I have the ‘open’ sign on,” Tiffani Root said.

Dry Creek Marketplace’s phone number is 417-967-0769.

The Houston Area Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon-cutting ceremony last Friday at Dry Creek Marketplace on First Street in Houston. The store is owned and operated by Travis and Tiffani Root (third and fourth from left) and Tiffani’s mother Joanie McDowell (third from right).
