A Plato teenager was cited after a Houston Police Department investigation of a car crashing into the west wall of Houston House Nursing Center in the early hours of Sunday, May 7.
According to a police report, Rylan J. Parrish, 18, of 12412 Goldenrod Drive in Plato, was issued citations for driving while intoxicated and careless and imprudent driving after an officer investigated a single-vehicle accident on North Industrial Drive.
The officer had responded to a report about the crash from an off-duty policeman. The vehicle involved – a gray 2002 Dodge Stratus – reportedly traveled off the right side of the roadway, went through a heavy cable barrier and crashed into Houston House’s brick structure.
Parrish complained of injuries and was taken by ambulance to Texas County Memorial Hospital. A 15-year-old boy who was also in the car was not injured.
The building sustained minor damage and nobody inside was hurt.
