Senior Night is a time to recognize a team’s lastyear players after their final home game. This year’s recognition of the Houston softball team also included its coach.

Brent Hall led the Lady Tigers for the final time on Carter Field last Thursday as the program plans to move to the spring season next school year. It was also the final home game for seniors Taylor Chipps, Kaitlyn Root, Madison Lawson, Carly Crawford, Jessica Schivitz and Abby Dzurick.

“These are six very special young ladies –– some of the best individuals I have ever coached, not just as softball players but more importantly as people,” Hall said following Houston’s 9-0 loss to Willow Springs. “They truly have made me better by being around them daily over the past four years.”

Hall, who led HHS (9-10) into district play Wednesday, expressed his thanks for the support while leading the program the past six seasons.

“I want everybody to know how much I’ve truly loved coaching softball and working with our girls,” he said. “I’ve always put the girls first, and hopefully this move will help push them over the top, which is what the move is for.”
