RONALD BUXBAUM

Ronald Louis Buxbaum, 84, was born in Chicago, Ill., on Aug. 22, 1933, to Chris and Helen (Brisidine) Buxbaum. He passed away on Oct. 21, 2017, at Parkview Healthcare Facility in Bolivar, Mo.

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents and three younger brothers Charles, David and Robert. He is survived by two sons, Barry of Bolivar, Mo., and Mike of West Plains, Mo.; seven grandchildren, Brandi Kaufman of Houston, Mo., Kristopher, Amanda, Kodey and Abygail of Bolivar, Mo., Mikey and Tesla of West Plains, Mo.; one sister-in-law, Ruth Buxbaum of Jefferson City, Mo.; two daughters-in-law, Tyla Buxbaum of Bolivar, Mo., and Wendy Buxbaum of West Plains, Mo.; plus many nieces and nephews.

Ronald graduated from grade school in Wood Dale, Ill., in June 1947. In December 1947, he moved to a farm in Eunice, Mo., and graduated high school from Summersville, Mo. He later graduated from Metro Business College in 1989.

He was drafted in 1954 in the Army and spent time in Korea from 1955 to 1956. He was discharged in March 1958 and joined the 1107AV- CRAD Det 1 in Lebanon, Mo., where he was honorably discharged in 1993. He retired after 20 years as a helicopter mechanic. He also worked for Akins motor for about 14 years after he got out of high school, OK Tire, Western Auto in Houston, Mo., and Memoryville in Rolla, Mo., restoring old cars.

Ronald was a wonderful father and grandfather. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed other people’s company and would never turn down a free meal. He enjoyed fishing and floating the current river with his son Barry. He enjoyed long walks on a nice day, doing puzzles, reading, bowling and watching old westerns.

He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He will forever be remembered.

Services were 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2017, at Evans Funeral Home with Joe Montgomery officiating. Burial with full military honors was in Pine Lawn Cemetery under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
