A local man is held in the Texas County Jail on $500,000 bond and faces a pair of felony charges after an incident Nov. 5 at his residence in Cabool.

As result of an investigation by a Texas County Sheriff’s Department deputy and a pair of Cabool Police Department officers, Keith Thomi – son, 41, of 13200 Sunrise Drive at Cabool, is charged with unlawful use of a loaded weapon while intoxicated and second-degree domestic assault.

Officers responded to a report of a fight at the residence (address unreported) at about 4:15 p.m.

The police officers arrived first and made contact with Thomison, who had apparently been the aggressor in the situation and was being restrained by two witnesses. When the officer took Thomison into custody, they observed that he was extremely drunk, according to a report.

The deputy then arrived and interviewed the two witnesses and Thomison’s wife, who all stated Thomison had consumed at least 15 beers and some whiskey and had taken a .22 caliber rifle outside and started shooting it into a bank in front of the house. The wife reportedly told him to stop the shooting, which made Thomison angry and he started yelling at the others.

Thomison reportedly then went into the house to get more bullets, and one of the witnesses grabbed the gun away from him. Thomison reacted by punching the witness and continued into the house to get a pack of 500 bullets, according to a report.

The wife reportedly responded by getting Thomison in a headlock and wrestling him to the ground. One of the witnesses then ran to assist while the other called 911.

Thomison was finally taken to jail and the rifle and a small bottle of bourbon were seized as evidence.
