A man is held on $750,000 bond in the Texas County Jail and faces felony robbery and drug charges following an incident Nov. 5 in Houston.

George F. Williams Jr., 30, of 714 Thomasville Road in Houston is charged with first-degree robbery (a class A felony) and felony possession of a controlled substance after a Houston Police Department investigation.

According to a probable cause statement submitted to the county prosecutor by an HPD officer, the officer was dispatched at about 4:35 p.m. regarding a report of a robbery in progress at a Brushy Creek Road residence. Upon arrival, the officer made contact with Williams and a woman who was also there.

The woman told the officer Williams had stolen her gun out of her car and pointed his own gun at her. Williams claimed the two had been arguing and she had reached for her gun, at which time he took it from her, unloaded it and his gun and placed them on a nearby propane tank.

During further investigation, the officer determined Williams was in possession of a baggie containing a strip of paper laced with acid.

Williams and the woman were both arrested and taken to jail, and placed in separate interview rooms. The guns were seized as evidence.
