Rolla resident Loretta Phelps holds up a segment what would ultimately be a king-size "Americana," with segments representing each branch of the U.S. military and depicting many famous quotes.

More than 20 quilting enthusiasts spent the better part of Nov. 10-12 doing what the love at Golden Hills Trail Rides and Resort near Raymondville.

Members of the Rolla-based Piece & Plenty Quilt Guild gathered for the event, and basically turned Golden Hills dining hall into a quilting hall.

Piece & Plenty Quilt Guild president Kathy Stack said the club was formed in 1986 and includes 106 members hailing from several counties and communities, including Texas County. She said new members and guests are always welcome at club gatherings.
