HOUSTON BAND STUDENTS EARN ‘ALL-MIDWEST’ HONOR

Six Houston students were recently selected among 400 schools from five surrounding states to the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) All-Midwest Honor Band.

Receiving the honor were: Aubrey Crockett and Mackenzie Bryan, seventh grade; Jenna Sheppard, eighth grade; Austin Bressie, freshman; Katch Crawford, sophomore; and Hunter Blankenship and Michael Washko, juniors.

“This is a huge honor for these students and the Houston R-1 School District considering the magnitude of this festival,” said Wayne Brown, Houston Schools band director. “If anyone is willing, we are taking donations to send these students to UMKC.”
