Tigers lose road game, tournament opener

The Houston Tigers –– playing for the first time following a 10-day layoff –– lost 57-43 Friday night at Seymour.

Senior Ty McCloud led HHS with 13 points on 4-of-8 shooting. Clayton Moore added 10 points and Michael Clayton had nine points and five rebounds.

The Tigers fell behind 16-7 after the opening quarter. It was still a nine-point game at the half before Seymour (2-0) pulled away with a 20-6 advantage in the third.

On Monday, HHS opened the Mansfield Invitational with a 65-31 loss to fourth-seeded Gainesville.

The Tigers (0-3) trailed 41-6 at the half.

McCloud led Houston with seven points. Michael Zamarron had five.

HHS plays Morrisville at 6 p.m. Friday in the consolation bracket.
