Balanced attack leads to SCA win

Behind a balanced attack, the Houston Lady Tigers won their first South Central Association game of the season.

Chloe Hunninghake had a career-high 20 points to lead four players in double figures as HHS beat Cabool 60-48 on the road Monday night.

Kaitlyn Root scored 12 points and Carly Crawford and Kelly Hubbs had 10 apiece for the Lady Tigers (3-9, 1-1 SCA).

Hunninghake, who scored 18 first-half points, had five 3-pointers. Crafword added three.

“The girls played hard,” Lady Tigers coach Jim Moore said. “We were able to hit some outside shots which opens things up on the inside.”

Houston jumped ahead 21-13 after the opening quarter and had a 13-point lead at the half.

On Friday, Root scored 13 points and Hunninghake had 10 in a 53-31 defeat at Sullivan.
