A Houston business has been purchased by a Houston native.

A Houston furniture and flooring business is under new ownership.

In a deal effective Monday, Kevin Crowley acquired Crowley’s HomeWorks from his brother, Bill, who started the business in 1993. The 12,000 square foot store is located near West Highway 17 and South Sam Houston Blvd.

Bill Crowley is retiring. He also owns a store at Mountain Grove.

Kevin Crowley is a Houston native who graduated from Houston High School in 1981 and retired after teaching for 25 years. He operated the furniture store’s Salem location for 6 ½ years.

He noted the ownership change will be seamless for existing customers — warranty work will extend to all past purchasers.

In January, the Houston location is holding a special event to allow customers to meet Kevin Crowley. All merchandise is 10-to-25 percent off, and a drawing for a recliner will be held.
