A Cabool Police Department investigation has resulted in felony charges against a West Plains woman accused of having sexual contact in December with a boy at the Gentry Residential Treatment Facility at Cabool.

Following the investigation, Lorin Trick, 22, of 1923 Anne St. in West Plains, is charged with sexual contact with a student and sexual contact with a prisoner or offender – both class E felonies. She was a state employee who worked for the Division of Youth Services.

According to a Cabool Police Department report, a Missouri Out-of-Home (OHI) investigator on Dec. 19 requested an officer meet her at the Gentry facility with regard to a hotline call she was following up on indicating a female worker at the facility had oral sex with one of the students. The call had reportedly been placed after two students told a staff member they had witnessed the incident take place in a dorm room.

All residents of the dorm in question and two nightshift workers were interviewed, according to the report.

When Trick was questioned, she reportedly admitted to three sexual encounters between Nov. 29 and Dec. 8, 2017, while working at the Gentry facility.

Trick is in the Texas County Jail on $50,000 bond. A formal arraignment is Feb. 6 after she waived a preliminary hearing Jan. 12 in associate circuit court.
