The Houston tennis team lost its season opener Monday 6-3 at Waynesville.

The Tigers earned three singles victories. Isaiah Buse won his No. 1 singles match 8-6. Kyler Ramsey and Kyle Mills both won 8-4.

HHS (0-1) had three close losses. Clayton Moore lost his singles match 8-6 and two doubles teams – Buse and Ramsey and Moore and Mills – were edged 9-7.

In JV play, Houston lost both singles matches and four doubles matches.
