A demolition derby to be hosted by the Houston Area Chamber of Commerce had been moved from Saturday, Oct. 19 to Saturday, Oct. 26.
The “Fall Clean Up” event – to be staged inside the arena at the county fairgrounds – will not only include men’s heats, but also feature women’s “powderpuff” competition.
Chamber executive director Angie Quinlan will be in the women’s field, and has had a car outfitted specifically for the event.
“I hope other local women will come out and challenge me,” Quinlan said. “But keep in mind, I’ll be out there to win.”
The derby begins at 6 p.m., and grandstand admission is $10, or $5 for kids ages 6 to 12 (kids 5-and-under get in free). Pit passes will be available for $25 apiece.
