Andrew “”Andy”” Wayne Beltz, 36, son of John A. and Jeannie Beltz, was born Sept. 2, 1964, in St. Louis. He died Jan. 18, 2001, at the home of his parents following a lingering illness. He graduated from Willow Springs High School in 1984, where he participated in band. He joined the U.S. Navy, took basic training at San Diego, Calif., and was later assigned duty on the aircraft carrier, U.S.S. America. He attended culinary arts school at the University of Oklahoma in Okmulgee, Okla. He worked at Hillbilly Junction at Willow Springs, the Hay Loft in Mountain Grove and the Kabul Nursing Home. He enjoyed sports cars, collecting antique glass and spending time with friends. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Willow Springs. Surviving are his parents and a sister, Donna Jean Sassman of Pekin, Ill. Memorial services were Jan. 22 at the First Baptist Church in Willow Springs with the Rev. Raymond Laramore officiating under the direction of Elliott-Gentry Funeral Home of Cabool. The body was cremated.”
