Ruby Odle Sweet, 82, daughter of Albert B. and Grace Gobble Odle, was born Jan. 17, 1919, at Simmons. She died Jan. 18, 2001, at Broken Arrow Nursing Home, Broken Arrow, Okla. She moved from the Kabul Nursing Home in December to be near her daughters in Oklahoma. She married Woodrow J. Sweet May 25, 1940. She was a member of the Cabool Assembly of God and served many years as a Sunday School and Vacation Bible School teacher at the Village Church of Grand Detour, Dixon, Ill. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and a brother, Raymond Odle. Surviving are two daughters, Linda Siex of Tulsa, Okla., and Dixie Ives of Broken Arrow, Okla.; one brother, Richard Odle of Marshalltown, Iowa; three grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Services were Jan. 22 at the Cabool Assembly of God with the Rev. Darrel Loughridge officiating. Burial was in the Cabool Cemetery under the direction of Elliott-Gentry Funeral Home.”
