VELMA CURTIS

Velma Helen Bryant Robertson Curtis, 88, daughter of James and Eliza Bryant, was born Aug. 25, 1912, at Bunker. She died April 5, 2001, at Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston. She was the last of 10 children. She married Garley Robertson May 22, 1928. They had two children. Mr. Robertson preceded her in death May 29, 1963. She married Jessie Lee Curtis June 4, 1965. He preceded her in death June 20, 1981. Mrs. Curtis retired from Rawlings Manufacturing Co. and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Licking. She was preceded in death by a son, Roy Wayne, April 7, 1986. Surviving are her daughter, Lorene Blankenship of Kansas City; a stepdaughter, Geraldine Green of Jackson; a close friend, Margaret Robertson of Licking; two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Services were April 8 at Fox Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Robert Gifford officiating. Burial was in the Licking Cemetery.”
