Vivian C. Smith, 78, daughter of Lonel Collins and Clearcy Johnson Collins, was born Sept. 14, 1922, at Siloam Springs. She died April 1, 2001, at St. John’s Regional Health Center in Springfield. She married Nolan E. Smith April 23, 1941. They had 11 children. Mrs. Smith was not only a mother and homemaker but also worked in many of the local restaurants in addition to operating a donut shop. For the last three years, she was a member of the Christian Life Fellowship Church in Lebanon. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons, Jerry and Freddie; one grandson and three brothers. Surviving are seven sons, Dallas of Boise, Idaho, Dennis of Cleveland, Texas, Bobby of Guide Rock, N.D., Wayne, Willie and Jimmy of Willow Springs and Carl of Mountain View; two daughters, Wanda Connell of Sallisaw, Okla., and Lucille Steffey of Mountain Grove; 31 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren; five brothers and one sister. Services were April 6 at Blue Buck Full Gospel Church with the Rev. Charles Owens and the Rev. Don Sing officiating. Burial was in the Cabool Cemetery under the direction of Elliott-Gentry Funeral Home. “
