Mary Lee James Walters, 94, daughter of Marion Burt James and Victoria Simmons James, was born Nov. 14, 1907. She died Oct. 5, 2002, at Houston House. She graduated from Houston High School in 1926 and Drury College in 1960. She was a librarian and married Harry E. Walters March 30, 1939. Mrs. Walters was a member of the United Methodist Church in Houston. Her hobbies were reading, cooking, visiting and making quilts. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1979; two sisters, Marian and Margaret; and four brothers, Reuben, Marshal, Maurice and Frank Maxwell. Surviving are nieces, nephews, cousins and a special friend, May Burns. Services were Oct. 9 at the United Methodist Church in Houston with the Rev. Louie Lowe officiating. Burial was in the Emery Cemetery under the direction of Evans Funeral Home. “
