Reba Shirlene Barnard, 66, daughter of John L. McCoy and Dorothy A. Parsley McCoy, was born Feb. 19, 1936, at Bennett, Texas. She died Oct. 8, 2002, at her home at Summersville. She married Ray Barnard Oct. 2, 1966. They had six children and were married 32 years before Mr. Barnard’s death in May 1998. Mrs. Barnard was a member of the Assembly of God. In addition to being a homemaker and mother, she worked for the Division of Aging caring for the elderly. She also was a cook in public schools for many years. She enjoyed camping and fishing and taking trips and vacations with her family. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; an infant brother, Allen Jeffrey McCoy; and a sister, Linda Dubois. Surviving are her children, Ray Elaine Wise and Cynthia Dianne Mills of Shongaloo, La., Rachel Shirrean Rome, Dorothy Ann Kaut, Jennifer Raylene McAdams and Marshall Ray Barnard Jr. of Summersville; three brothers, John McCoy of Madison, Wis., Herman McCoy of Houston, Texas, and Rickey McCoy of California; one sister, Loweta Downey of West Plains; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grand-children. Services were Oct. 11 at the Midvale Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Emmett Bradford officiating. Burial was in the Arroll Cemetery under the direction of Bradford Funeral Home of Summersville. “
