Word was received here of the Nov. 21 death of David “”Clark”” Powell of Lee’s Summit. Mr. Powell, 61, died after a year-long battle with cancer. He was the husband of Marsha Kay Mires Powell and son-in-law of Marshall and Ruby Mires of Houston. Mr. Powell was a 1978 graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Engineering. He was a 40-year employee of Honeywell International Federal Manufacturing and Technology of Kansas City, where he held a variety of staff engineering positions spanning four decades. In addition to his wife, surviving are four children, David T. Powell of Kansas City, Alicia A. Powell and Jeffery D. Vannoy of Lee’s Summit and Major John Vannoy of Fort Leavenworth, Kan.; and three grandchildren. Memorial services were Nov. 24 at Langsford Funeral Home in Lee’s Summit. Memorials may be made to the Boys Scouts of America, Heart of America Chapter, Kansas City. “
