Lee Taber, 90, son of William Issac Taber and Martha Ann Knowlin Taber, was born Aug. 6, 1912, at Arroll. He died Nov. 24, 2002, at his home at Mountain View. He married Ethel Evelyn Roark Jan. 24, 1941. They were married more than 62 years and had four children. Mr. Taber served in the U.S. Army during the ’40s. He worked at McVicker’s Pallet Mill for many years and also farmed. Mr. Taber attended the Oakside Church and was baptized June 22, 1986, at Blue Springs. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Bob, Ray, Edgar and Hubert “”Rowd”” Taber; four sisters, Dorothy Hlavac, Hulda Bridges, Lorene Evins and Cora Taber; two stepsisters, Lillian Bay and Lucille Brigance; and an infant grandson. Surviving are his wife of the home; his children, Howard Lee Taber and Glenda Dawkins of Mountain View, Edgar Dwaine Taber of Corinth, Texas, and Helen Givler of Nixa; two brothers, John Taber of Garden City and Calvin Taber of Kansas City; three sisters, Verna Woolsey of Mountain View, Connie Morgan of Freeman and Mary Shirley of Pleasant Hill; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grand-children. Services were Nov. 27 at the Oakside Church with the Rev. Emmett Bradford and the Rev. Pat Cronk officiating. Burial was in the Oakside Cemetery under the direction of Bradford Funeral Home of Summersville. “
