Wilda Crawford Rider, 83, daughter of Charels C. Crawford and Betsy Simmons Crawford, was born March 6, 1921, at Bado. She died Friday, July 30, 2004, at the Carthage Health and Rehabilitation Center at Carthage. She grew up in rural Texas County and came to Bronaugh in 1945. She was a riveter at Boeing Aircraft in Wichita, Kan., during World War II. She worked for Key Work Clothes in Nevada, Mo., and later was in housekeeping for the Nevada State hospital until her retirement in 1976. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed taking care the pets on her farm.She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Delores Mercer; son, Darrell Mercer; two brothers, Wilbur and Wayne McGehee; and a grandson.Surviving are two sons, Jim Rider and Rick Rider of Bronaugh; two daughters, Janice Rider of Texas and Barbara Bohm of Carthage; stepson, Clifford Sjoholm of Nevada, Mo.; eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and a long-time friend, Elizabeth Houk of Bronaugh.Services were Wednesday, Aug. 4, at the Bronaugh Baptist Church at Bronaugh with Ray Dean Scism officiating. Burial was in the Worsley Cemetery at Bronaugh.Memorials may be made to the Worsley Cemetery in care of Ferry Funeral home, 301 S. Washington, Nevada, Mo. 64772. “
